Example: Adjust pH of buffer solution:  (see other examples: calculate buffer pH, make pH buffer)
This exampe is to adjust pH of CH3COONa/CH3COOH buffer solution by adding NaOH solution.

In main menu Click Popular services>Biotech/chemistry, then click pH buffer calculator.  Then give temperature of the buffer.

Choose initial state as Liquid buffer solution.  There are six options of add chemical.  In our case, choose add chemical to convert acid to base bcause NaOH reacts with CH3COOH and produce CH3COONa.
Give pKa value 4.76.  Give consume mole ratio 1 because 1 mole NaOH reacts with 1 mole acetic acid and produce one mole CH3COONa.  Then click Next step button to reach calculation page.

Figure 1. Set up adjust buffer pH

At calculation page, give initial concentration of buffer acid and buffer base, and initial buffer volume.  These values should be from previous make pH buffer calculation.  Give concentration and volume of NaOH to add.  Click calculate button to obtain pH value, and final concentrations of acid and base.
